2005 Dodge Durango Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Shock Absorber on 2005 Dodge Durango?
A: Begin the service by lifting the vehicle and supporting the axle. If buying new left side shock absorbers, lower the spare before removing the old ones. Then, remove the top shock bolt and flag nut, remove the lower shock bolt and nut and remove the shock absorber from the car. Insert the new shock into the brackets and bolt the shock to the brackets. This should secure the top nut called the flag nut and the lower nut. Apply force of 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.) to tighten the upper and lower bolt/nut in place. If the spare tire was folded, open it again, lift it into position and then remove the support.
