2006 Dodge Durango Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain Your Shock Absorber for Optimal Performance on 2006 Dodge Durango?
A: When servicing the rear shock, first lift the car and rest the axle on supports. If you replace the left side shock, lower the spare tire first. After that, unscrew both shock bolt and nut on the rear first, then tug out the rear shock absorber from its location in the car. New shock absorber placement involves inserting it into the mounts, placing and tightening the bolts through the shock and brackets and locking the flag nut on top and the lower nut with a wrench. Place both the bolt and nuts back into place and torque them both to 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.). Raise the spare tire on the left shock back to its original place. After that, remove the support and lower the vehicle.
