2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor on 2005 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: The left side of the intake manifold plenum holds the intake manifold temperature (IMT) sensor. Before removing the sensor, detach the electrical connector from the IMT sensor and clean the dirt around the base on the intake manifold. With a small movement, release the small plastic tab and twist the sensor a quarter turn to the left. Be sure to examine the O-ring. When you install the sensor, check if the O-ring is fine and clean the hole for the sensor on the intake manifold. Insert the sensor into the intake manifold and rotate it clockwise. As the sensor slides forward, the release tab will open, at which time you should connect the electrical part.
