What is the correct method to install a Piston Ring Set on 2005 Jeep Liberty?

Before installing, align the manufacturers I.D. mark so it faces you when the piston is laying on its side. Start by installing the rings this way: the oil ring expander, upper oil ring side rail, lower oil ring side rail, No. 2 intermediate piston ring and finally No. 1 upper piston ring. When setting up the side rails, secure one vinyl end so it's placed right between the piston ring groove and the expander. Once done, press straight down to get the side rail in line and avoid using the piston ring expander. Install the upper side rail at the start, then place the lower side rail and next install No. 2 piston ring and No. 1 piston ring. Adjust the rings so that the textured face ends up against the cylinder and oil ring expander gaps can't be within 45° or 1.1 mm of each other or anywhere close to the piston center or in the thrust direction.
