2005 Jeep Liberty Wiper Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a Wiper Arm on 2005 Jeep Liberty?
A: At the rear wiper motor's output shaft end of the arm, lift the pivot cover. Then, unhitch the nut securing the rear wiper arm to the same shaft. Should you have to, disconnect the wiper arm from the rear wiper motor output shaft splines by loosening the positive battery terminal that was secured using a battery puller, though this might entail taking out the spare tire from the tailgate. Remove the rear wiper arm pivot end from the shaft coming from the motor once you have disengaged. The wiper motor must be in the Park position before you start installing the wiper. Attach the rear wiper arm to the motor output shaft so the arm ends up in the tapered hole and the support is placed on the designated park ramp. Put the tab on the back of the rear wiper arm support on the tailgate park ramp in its installed position and lower the tapered mounting hole down over the rear wiper motor output shaft. Install and use a torque wrench to secure the rear wiper arm to the rear wiper motor output shaft at 18 N.m (13 ft.lbs.), cover the rear wiper arm pivot with its cover, lift the rear wiper arm support out of the park ramp, then lower it back in Park Position.
