2006 Dodge Dakota Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain an Oxygen Sensor on 2006 Dodge Dakota?
A: In order to work on the oxygen sensor, you have to first raise the vehicle on proper furniture. When removing the 2/1 sensor from a 4-sensor system, it's necessary to take off the right-front tire/wheel and the plastic inner fender liner. Carefully unplug the connector from the O2S sensor so that you don't pull on the wire itself. Remove the O2S sensor with an O2S tool and afterward, use a proper tap to clean the threads in the exhaust pipe. Because the oxygen sensor's threads have anti-seize compound applied from the factory, do not add any more when installing. Secure the O2S sensor tightly to 30 N.m (22 ft. lbs.) torque and then link the O2S sensor wire connector. If adding a 2/1 sensor to a 4-sensor system, replace the inner plastic part covering the fender and right-front wheel after installing the sensor and do not lower the vehicle.
