For servicing and repairing a 9 1/4 rear axle, begin by unscrewing the axle shaft and following that by removing the axle seal with a seal pick. Bearing Remover 6310 and Foot 6310-9 allow you to extract the bearing; place the receiver on the axle tube, insert the foot through the receiver and bearing, tighten the nut to pull the bearing into the receiver. Before installing, make sure there are no old bits or debris on the axle tube. Apply a small amount of Installer C-4198 and push the bearing Home Driver C-4171 into place on the bearing insert. Apply some axle lubricant to the new seal lip and use the same installer and handle you used earlier to set it.
