2006 Dodge Durango Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain an Oxygen Sensor on 2006 Dodge Durango?
A: Always be sure to raise and support your vehicle for sensor servicing. Take note not to pull the wire when you disconnect the wire connector from the O2S sensor. Take the oxygen sensor out with help from an O2S removal tool and then clean the threads in the exhaust with the right tap. Keep in mind that when fitting a new oxygen sensor, its threads have anti-seize compound and you don't need to apply more yourself. After installing the O2S sensor, tighten it to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N.m), then plug the O2S sensor wire connector back in before bringing the vehicle down again. Cool the engine before you remove the oxygen sensor and never smear grease on or try to solder the connector for the sensor.
