2006 Dodge Durango Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Rear Wiper Motor on 2006 Dodge Durango?
A: The first thing to do is disconnect the battery negative cable to take out the rear wiper motor. Take off the rear wiper arm from the output shaft of the rear wiper motor, as you do not need to remove the bezel or grommet yet. After that, remove the trim panel on the tailgate inner panel and take the rear wiper motor's wire harness connector apart. Remove the three screws fastening the motor mounting bracket to the rail panel inside the liftgate and then remove the motor from the gate. Should the output shaft bezel and grommet come off, insert the rubber bezel and grommet into the mounting hole in the liftgate outer panel. It's important that the three rivet nuts fastening the rear wiper motor and bracket are set correctly and undamaged. Put the whole motor and carrier into place and tighten the three screws on the bracket to 8 Nm (72 in lbs). Plug the wire harness connector back into the motor connector receptacle, place the trim panel on the liftgate inner panel and finally secure the rear wiper arm to the output shaft. In the end, plug one end of the battery cable into the car's battery negative terminal.
