- Q: How to Maintain a Door Handle on the Rear Exterior on 2006 Jeep Commander?A: The watershield on the door needs to be removed first for servicing the rear door exterior handle. Unplug the actuator rod from the handle on the outside and then remove the three bolts attaching the handle to the door and take the handle away. For the installation, place the outside handle onto the hole on the rear door and screw in the three mounting bolts to 7 N.m (60 in.lbs). After that, join the actuator rod with the outside handle in the rear, fit the watershield and adjust how the latch opens.
