2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain an Oxygen Sensor on 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: You should raise and support the vehicle before servicing the oxygen sensor. Untie the wire connector attached to the O2S sensor so the wireless connection will break. Remove the oxygen sensor with the special tool and make sure to clean the threads inside the pipe using the needed tap. During installation of a new oxygen sensor, ensure you don't apply another coat of anti-seize as it comes out of the factory coated. Place the O2S sensor and ensure its torque is set to 30 N.m (22 ft. lbs.), then connect the wire connector from the O2S sensor before you lower the vehicle. First, let the engine cool off before you unplug the oxygen sensor and don't grease the connector or attempt any soldering on the sensor wiring harness.
