2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Front Wheel Speed Sensor on 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: To look after the front wheel speed sensor, you should first lift the vehicle, take out the jack stands and then remove the tire and wheel. Then, lift out the caliper adapter bolts and raise the caliper and adapter on their supports so the hose isn't held up. Take out the disc brake rotor and unscrew the front wheel sensor nut from the hub next. Take the wheel speed sensor off the hub and remove both the wire sensor routing clips and the wire connector. After you have removed the sensor and wire, put the sensor wire connector back in its place and connect and route the wire to the clips. Install your wheel speed sensor onto the hub and hold it in place with the mounting bolt and nut, tightening the nut to 12 - 14 Nm. Routes the sensor wire so that it avoids all major parts of the chassis. Secure the disc brake rotor first, adding the caliper adapter on top and tighten all the circlip bolts to 90 - 115 Nm pressure. After that, place the mounted tire and wheel assembly on the vehicle again, take off the support and drive the vehicle down.
