2006 Jeep Liberty Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Front Wiper Motor on 2006 Jeep Liberty?
A: To work on the front wiper motor, unlock and open the hood and afterwards disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Remove the two front wiper arms from their pivots and take off the cowl plenum cover/grille panel as well. Unscrew the headlamp and dash wire harness connector (5) from the motor pigtail wire connector. Remove the two screws (2) attaching the front wiper module (3) and two nuts (1) fastened to the weld studs (4) below it, as well as the two screws at the pivot brackets. Lifting the front wiper module from below, work the insulators off the weld studs and the whole module will come out with the plenum panel. During installation, return the front wiper module (3) to the cowl plenum, drop the mounting insulators over the weld studs (4) and assemble the screws (2) onto the pivot brackets, screwing in the driver side screw first and next the passenger side screw to 8 N.m (72 in. lbs.). Fix the module to the studs with the nuts (1) and use a torque value of 8 N.m (72 in. lbs.). After reconnecting the headlamp and dash wire harness connector (5) to the motor pigtail wire connector, install the cowl plenum cover/grille panel, close and secure the hood, put the front wiper arms in place on the wiper pivots and lastly reattach the negative battery cable.
