2007 Jeep Liberty Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Wiper Motor for Rear Tailgate Service and Repair on 2007 Jeep Liberty?
A: Before oiling the unit, fit the motor and bracket together into the tailgate. Slide the end of the wiper motor through the outer tailgate hole and fasten it to the inner panel using the two keyed screws from above. Connect the rear wiper motor to the panel near the tailgate at the hole the shaft goes through and then add the gasket and bezel over the shaft from the outside. Connect the rear wiper motor output shaft to the outer tailgate panel by fastening the nut at 5 Nm (43 in. lbs. of torque). From the tailgate's inside, attach the rear wiper motor mounting bracket to the top of the tailgate inner panel by turning both screws to 6 Nm (57 in. lbs.). Wire the tailgate wire harness connector for the rear wiper motor to the receptacle on the motor and connect the connector for the flip-up glass ajar switch to the receptacle for the flip-up glass latch. Fit the inner panel trim over the rear wiper fastener and press the nut cover till the cover is locked onto the bezel beneath the tailgate. Next, place the wiper arm back on the rear motor outlet and then attach the negative battery cable once more.
