2006 Jeep Wrangler Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Engine Mount on 2006 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before beginning, detach the negative terminal from the battery and lift the vehicle to keep the transmission from tipping. Take off the nuts fastening the support cushion to the crossmember and remove the crossmember. Then, remove the nuts from the lower cushion and lift out the cushion and afterwards remove the bolts supporting the bracket to the transmission. To mount the slip plate, first attach the cushion with the right bolts and tighten each one properly. Slide the crossmember to your vehicle, hold it in place with the mount bolt and nut and then fasten the crossmember-to-sill bolts with torque at 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) degrees. Once done, pull out the transmission support, slowly lower the car and attach the negative battery cable.
