2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Brake Pad Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Install a Brake Pad on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: Initially, check the right and left sides of the vehicle and stay here until the final step for installation. Due to the position of the noise indicator, the inboard brake pads are built differently from each other. Fasten the two brake pads in the abutment shims which are clipped to the disc brake caliper adapter, so that the one with the wear indicator stays on the inboard side. After that, pull the caliper piston back all the way into the bore, making sure the caliper guide pins don't harm the boots as you install the caliper over the brake pads. Avoid letting any spring on the pads become stuck in the caliper housing. Place the bolt holes of the caliper guide pins alongside the guide pins, install the bolts and tighten them to 35 Nm. After that, install the tire and wheel onto the hub and tighten the bolts to 135 Nm. Park your car lower to the ground and press the brake several times to let the pads contact the brake rotor. After that, top off the brake fluid as needed, go for a drive and quit every few miles so that any leftover foreign material can be removed from the brakes and the pads can fit properly.
