2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Install an Oil Pan on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: Put a bead of Mopar(R) Engine RTV GEN II on the oil pump to engine block parting lines before putting in the oil pan. Following this, fit the gasket to the block, then place the oil pan on top and tighten the screws to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). Once that's done, put in the oil filter adapter with the gasket and tighten the screws to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). On oil cooler-equipped vehicles, insert the new seal, lubricate it and place the oil cooler on the oil filter adapter, checking that the notch matches the tab. Then, tighten the oil cooler's connector bolt to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.). Following installation of the aluminum block, set the oil drain plug and the oil filter, then fit the structural collar and lower torque strut. On turbocharger equipped vehicles, attach the turbocharger to the charge air cooler hose assembly. At this stage, park the truck on level ground and add correct oil to the engine, then start the vehicle and look for any leaks.
