2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Power Steering Cooler Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Power Steering Cooler on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: For cars without a turbo that have the cooler mounted outside, empty as much fluid as you can from the power steering reservoir using a siphon. After that, get under the vehicle and lift it off the floor. On LHD vehicles, unfasten the return hose clamp from the cooler along with the hose itself. Then, detach the hose clamp holding the hose onto the outlet port at the power steering gear and take out the hose. For security, screw the cooler to the front suspension crossmember, then take out the two screws on the tube routing clamp on the right side of the power steering gear housing to remove the cooler tube. If your car uses a right-hand drive (RHD), remove the hose clamp from the power steering gear and remove the hose first, then unscrew the two bolts securing the cooler to the front part of the suspension crossmember. Take out the cooler once you have finished.
