2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Power Steering Pump Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Power Steering Pump on a 2.0L/2.4L Engine on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: When swapping the power steering pump on a 2.0L/2.4L engine, put Mopar(R) Dielectric Grease on the new O-ring, set its gasket in the water pump body groove with care so that it doesn't move or let coolant out. After that, secure the pump body to the block with screws and tighten them to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). Turn the pump manually to make sure it can rotate correctly. Test the pressure on the cooling system and make sure it reaches 103 Kpa (15 psi) before checking if any water leaks around the water pump shaft seal or O-ring. Then, put in the rear timing belt cover and camshaft sprockets and finally, install the timing belt.
