2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Wheel Bearing Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair Wheel Bearings on Rear Disc Brake on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: When working on rear disc brake vehicles, pull the hub and bearing off, fit the new wheel bearing and bolt it to the hub using a wheel nut, tightening the nut to 217 Nm (160 ft. lbs.). Then, place the hub and bearing dust cap first, then the brake rotor and caliper, eight for the rotor and one for the caliper. While installing, ensure you secure the caliper in place using bolts that are tightened to 22 Nm (192 in. lbs.). Attach the end of the disc brake flex hose to the axle and once the tire and wheel are in place (1), tighten the wheel mounting nuts (3) to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). Make sure you push the brake pedal several times after lowering the car, so you know it's firmly on before moving it.
