2007 Chrysler Sebring Brake Caliper Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Brake Caliper Correctly on 2007 Chrysler Sebring?
A: First, pull back the caliper piston into the bores by clamping the C-clamp and put a wooden block over it to secure the piston area. After that, place the outboard brake pad on the caliper, ensuring the retaining clip is correctly in place in the caliper's digged out areas beyond the retaining bead. Line the inbound brake pad and rotor under the outbound brake pad, install the disc brake caliper onto the brake caliper adapter bracket and be careful not to harm the guide pin boots. During caliper guide pin bolt installation, make sure the bolt that comes with a special sleeve is set in the upper location. Misaligning the caliper guide pin bolt holes with the adapter bracket and install the bolts from below and above into their holes, tightening them till you reach 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.). Carefully put the rear brake flex hose into the brake caliper and tighten the fitting to reach 15 Nm (133 in. lbs.). The brake flex hose should be installed into the trailing link bracket and retained by using the clip. Push the nut over the brake tube onto the brake flex hose and tighten it to 17 Nm (150 in. lbs.). Fit the tire and wheel onto the hub, tighten all wheel mounting nuts to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.), then lower the vehicle and remove the hold tool for the brake pedal. Bleed the brake system regularly and make a few trips to remove anything blocking the brakes from acting properly.
