2007 Chrysler Sebring Brake Booster Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Brake Booster on 2007 Chrysler Sebring?
A: It is necessary to install a new dash seal on the booster studs before you fit the brake booster. Take the booster through the dash and set it, then fix the mounting nuts for the instrument panel and tighten them in sequence to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Brush a small amount of Mopar(R) Lubriplate or an alternative onto the top surface where the brake pedal pin touches the brake booster rod. Connect the power brake booster push rod to the side pin of the brake pedal, using a new retaining clip rather than using the old one. Replace the stop lamp switch in the brake system pedal bracket, because it can only be adjusted once. Fit the cover over the steering column opening and put in the air bag if it's equipped, then attach the vacuum hose to the check valve, making sure there is no contact with nearby surfaces. Join the rear brake tubes to the junction block, using a torque wrench set at 17 Nm (150 in. lbs.) and then fit the master cylinder and PCM. Return the negative cable to the battery and bleed the base brake system to verify the brake pedal is working as it should while being tested on the road.
