2007 Chrysler Sebring Steering Wheel Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Remove a Steering Wheel on 2007 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Begin by positioning the tires in the center of the wheel and then remove the negative cable under the battery to keep the air bag from deploying. Let the capacitor of the air bag system discharge for two minutes. After that, remove the driver air bag and separate the wiring connector at the Clock Spring. Securely grip the wheel and loosen the bolt that is fastening the steering wheel to the shaft. Make sure that the puller jaws are positioned around the steering wheel base. Ensure around 13 mm (0.5 in.) of bolt is seen past the wheel, that could touch the puller base. Take out the speed control switch screw, use that opening to place the puller tool and fit the puller around the steering wheel. Don't use force by bumping or hammering on the steering wheel or shaft while removing it. After that, with your steering wheel straight, use the puller to disconnect the steering wheel from the shaft and then take out the bolt and the wheel.
