2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500 Heater Core Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair a Heater Core on 2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: To work on or fix the heater core, first put the air bag system out of action by unhooking the negative battery cable and wait two minutes for the capacitor to empty itself. Keep the central face of the instrument panel free from damage. Remove the instrument panel and HVAC housing in one piece and rest them on a work surface. After that, remove the blower motor power module or blower motor resistor, as required by the application. Unhook the two metal secuding clamps that hold the heater core tubes in place, unhook the heater core tubes and discard the O-ring seals. To avoid harming the stud mounting boss, grab the stud's end with vise grips or something similar and remove the nut that secures the bracket to the HVAC housing near the blower motor when removing the bracket. Put the blower motor section just a bit in front and gently remove the heater core straight from the side of the HVAC housing.
