2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500 A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Adjust the Refrigerant Oil Level When Servicing an A/C Hose on 2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: Ensuring the refrigerant oil level is correct when servicing the A/C system helps prevent the compressor from being damaged and prevents the system from not working as it should. If you're replacing multiple parts in your A/C system, check the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to know how much oil to add. When a refrigerant line is taken apart, make certain to replace the O-ring to reduce risks of leaks. Start by taking out any tape or plugs from the fittings on the discharge line and from both the compressor and condenser ports. Dip new rubber O-rings into clean refrigerant oil, then install them onto the discharge line fittings, preferably using only those made for the R-134a system and sticking to the oil your vehicle's A/C compressor requires. Bring the discharge line (8) through the duct and attach it to the A/C compressor (9), while holding it with a 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.) tightened bolt. Then, link the A/C discharge line with the A/C condenser (7) and put in the nut, tightening it by 6 Nm (53 in. lbs.). Place the negative battery cable back on, let the refrigerant system drain, refill the oil for the refrigerant, add the refrigerant and finish by placing the air cleaner housing.
