2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500 Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How is the Rear A/C Evaporator Installed on 2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: Check and correct the level of oil in the A/C system before installing the rear A/C evaporator. Add 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of refrigerant oil to the system whenever only the rear A/C evaporator is being replaced. Whenever you disconnect a refrigerant line, it's essential to change the O-ring seal and avoid any possibl leaks. Put the rear A/C evaporator (4) into the top of the rear evaporator housing, install the evaporator retaining bracket (5) with the screws (6) and tighten the bolts to 3 Nm (26 in. lbs.). Attach the rear evaporator temperature sensor (3) to the housing and then put on the rear evaporator insulator and cover (2). Replace the cover with retaining screws (1), adjusting them to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). After that, place the rear condenser cover bracket (2) onto the rear condenser bracket (5) and attach it using four retaining bolts (3). Fasten the nut and bolt (4) to the rear condenser cover bracket so that the rear A/C suction line (1) is fixed onto it tightly. Set the rear condenser cover onto the vehicle and attach it with retaining screws that have been tightened to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). Fit the rear A/C expansion valve, attach the negative battery terminal back to its terminal and remove excess coolant from the rear air conditioning lines. If the rear A/C evaporator is being replaced, put 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of refrigerant oil into the system and when replacing several components, look at the table of oil quantities in the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart. After that, fill the rear refrigerant system with the right amount.
