2007 Jeep Liberty Rocker Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rocker Arm on 2007 Jeep Liberty?
A: Before you work on the rocker arm assembly, disconnect the battery's negative cable to prevent the starter from starting unexpectedly. Remove the cover that hides the cylinder head. To remove the rocker arm from cylinder 4, rotate the crankshaft until cylinder 1 is at bottom dead center intake. Flip the crankshaft on cylinder No. 1 until it lands at BDC combustion stroke. Move the crankshaft until the No. 1 cylinder is directly above the exhaust tube during its exhaust stroke for cylinders No. 3 and No. 5. Turn the crankshaft continuously until it reaches TDC ignition stroke on cylinder No. 1 for cylinder No. 2 and No. 6. To remove the rocker arm, use Special Tool 8516 to push down on the valve spring.
