2007 Jeep Liberty Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace an Oil Pan on 2007 Jeep Liberty?
A: You need to clean the oil pan gasket mating areas of both the bedplate and the oil pan and clean the two gasket surfaces on the oil pan and block as well. Check the oil pan gasket and change it if you find it broken or worn out. Install the oil pump pick-up tube directly into the oil pan and then fasten the whole assembly into the front of the vehicle. First, you need to put in the windage tray, attach the oil pump pick-up tube afterward using the nuts and one bolt. Once the pick-up tube bolts are tight, put in and tighten the oil pan bolts. With the engine installed, attach it to the bottom of the transmission structural cover, let the engine down and take out Special Tool 8534. Make sure the vehicle is down before removing Engine Support Fixture, using Tool #8534 and lastly lower the engine. Lift the vehicle and secure both of the engine mount bolt connections tightly. Next, fit the transmission oil cooler bracket and check for security. Drop the vehicle into its lowest position, add fresh oil to the engine, reconnect the battery and turn on the engine to look for signs of leakage.
