  Before you disconnect the valve rocker arm, remove the negative Battery Cable. After that, take off the cylinder head cover. Turn the Crankshaft until cylinder No. 1 reaches BDC during the intake stroke to remove the rocker arm for No. 4. When working with cylinder No. 1, turn the crankshaft to reach the BDC combustion stroke. Turn cylinders No. 3 and No. 5 until you observe cylinder No. 1 is at the TDC exhaust stroke point. Rotate the crankshaft for cylinders No. 2 and No. 6 until cylinder No. 1 is up at its TDC ignition stroke. Press the Rocker Arm Remover/Installer 8516A downward to release and remove the valve spring as well as the rocker arm.

  Before you work on the rocker arm assembly in the car with the Camshafts fitted, take out the cylinder head cover, Fuel Rail and spark plugs. Spin the engine to bring the cam lobe of the follower you'll remove onto its base circle and confirm the piston is not more than 6.3 mm (0.25 inch) from the top dead center. Remember to mark where the assemblies go to make sure they are easy to reassemble in the future. Hold Special Tool 8215 and 8436 to force down the rocker arm assembly which helps you pull out the rocker arm. Additional pieces may have to be removed to fit the tool properly within the handle. Do the same removal process on all the rocker arms, look for signs of damage and replace them if required. Rocker arms should be lubricated with clean engine oil before using Special Tools 8215 and 8436 to lower the valve assembly and place the rocker arm on the hydraulic lifter and valve stem. Work through the installation step with each rocker arm and as a next step, add the spark plugs, fuel rail and cylinder head cover.
