2007 Jeep Wrangler Air Bag Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Damaged or Ineffective Air Bag on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before changing a seat air bag that is faulty or broken, remove the negative battery cable, wait two minutes and then check to ensure the air bag is not triggered by accident. Remove the air bag after you have followed the advised service steps once it has been deployed. Start by setting the seat air bag and pouch into the pouch made from nylon inside the seat back, flip it over to the outboard side of the frame, then attach the studs to its mounting holes. Connect the seat air bag to the side of the seat back frame with two nuts and tighten them to 10 Nm (89 in. lbs.). The seat air bag jumper wire harness connector should be secured to the seat air bag inflator. Reinstall every trim piece on the front seat back frame to preserve the air bag system's proper working. Once the lower edge of the seat trim is back in place, zip the two side sections of the rear panel to the backside of the trim cover and put the recliner handle and easy entry handle back on the passenger side. Open up the seat back to use the J-hook attachments beneath the bottom edge of the cover to secure the trim pieces on both the front and back. It is important to remove the negative cable from the battery until after you finish the verification test of the supplemental restraint system, following a servicing.
