2008 Chrysler Aspen Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Air Bag Sensor in the C-Pillar on 2008 Chrysler Aspen?
A: The side impact sensor in the C-pillar should be serviced by disconnecting the negative cable of the battery, waiting a few minutes to drain the system's capacitor and then reconnecting the cable. Secure the rivet nut that holds the side impact sensor (3) in place inside the inner C-pillar (5), making certain it's in good shape. Connect the side impact sensor at the inner C-pillar and join the body wire harness connector (1) to the sensor's receptacle. Set the sensor along the inner C-pillar so that the anti-rotation pin on its back slips through the clearance hole (4). Attach the sensor by tightening the screw (2) to a torque of 6 Nm (50 in. lbs.). Reattach the lower C-pillar with the quarter trim panel. Do not link the ignition back to the battery until you complete the SRS verification test after any repair on an SRS element.
