2008 Chrysler Pacifica A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to properly install an A/C hose on 2008 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Before attaching the A/C discharge line, always check and regulate the refrigerant oil amount so that A/C system problems and potential compressor damage do not occur. Always consult the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart when you are changing several A/C components to know how much oil to add. Every time you open a refrigerant line, remember to replace the O-ring seals and gaskets to keep refrigerant inside. Place the A/C discharge line inside the engine compartment and eliminate all tape or plugs from the discharge lines and the ports on the condenser and compressor. Lubricate rubber O-ring seals with clean refrigerant oil and fit both new seals and gaskets onto the discharge line fittings, only using the right type of O-rings and the type of oil specified for an R-134a system in your AC compressor. Fasten the A/C discharge line to the compressor with a 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.) nut. After that, attach the A/C discharge line to the A/C condenser and hold it in place with another nut tightened to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Set the air seal from the radiator end to the right side of the A/C condenser and add the retaining pins. After that, install the front fascia and radiator closure panel. Reattach the negative battery cable, drain the refrigerant, add oil to bring its level down and replace the refrigerant when required.
