2008 Chrysler Pacifica Brake Caliper Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Remove and Replace a Brake Caliper on 2008 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Be sure that both inner and outer brake pads have intact adhesive on their noise suppression gaskets before removing or replacing the brake caliper; if it is not there or damaged, change the brake pads. Gently place the disc brake caliper on the brake pads inside the brake caliper adapter, so you do not hurt the boots on the caliper guide pins. Square up the caliper guide pin bolt holes to the guide pins and then insert the bolts, making sure the upper bolt (nearest to the bleeder screw) is tightened to 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.) before turning to the same tension level on the lower bolt. Install the banjo bolt on the brake hose, put new washers on each side of the fitting and thread the bolt into the caliper, tightening it with 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.) force. Next, put in the tire and wheel assembly and tighten the wheel mounting nuts to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.), then lower your car and take out the brake pedal holding tool. Connection the (-) battery cable hook and make sure to bleed the hydraulic system as necessary, too. Ultimately, drive around for a bit, making stops along the way to reduce foreign materials and set the brake pads correctly.
