2007 Chrysler Pacifica Brake Caliper Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Rear Disc Brake Caliper on 2007 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: The first step is to disconnect and isolate the battery's negative cable to replace the rear disc brake caliper. Attach a brake pedal holding tool to the brake pedal and move the pedal past its first inch to make sure no brake fluid drains from the reservoir when you open the brake lines. Raise the vehicle and then remove the three wheel mounting nuts as well as the tire and wheel assembly. At times, pulling back the caliper piston a bit can make it easier to remove the caliper, but remember to do it by pulling on the caliper's rear, not on the piston. Next, take out the two caliper guide pin bolts and turn the bottom of the caliper away from the rotor. Then lift the caliper assembly off the upper adapter. Slide the brake pad toward the center of your car while using your other hand to push it away from the locating pins in the caliper fingers. In the end, draw back the brake shoe near the caliper so the clip releases from the inside of the piston.
