2008 Dodge Caliber A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Service and Repair an A/C Hose Discharge Line on 2008 Dodge Caliber?
A: Before touching the A/C discharge line, isolate the negative battery cable by disconnecting it and then eliminate the refrigerant from the system. Lift and keep the weight off the automobile and take out the splash shield from the right frame rail. After that, take out the nut attaching the A/C discharge line to the A/C compressor, separate the line and throw out the O-ring seal and gasket. After opening the discharge line fitting and compressor port, attach plugs or use tape over them both. Once done, bring down your vehicle. First, take off the upper radiator door and then slightly pull out the last part of the fascia to get to the A/C discharge line. Insert your hand between the radiator and front fascia to separate the wire harness connector from the A/C pressure transducer. Take out the pin holding the A/C discharge line on the A/C condenser on the right side, separate the line from the condenser and throw away the O-ring and gasket. As before, fit or seal a plug over the discharge line fitting as well as the condenser port. If you need to, take out the A/C pressure transducer from the A/C discharge line.
