2008 Dodge Sprinter 2500 A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the A/C Hose and Adjust Refrigerant Oil Levels on 2008 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: It is necessary to check the oil level in the A/C refrigerant line during maintenance, since low oil may harm the compressor and possibly lead to improper performance. Should you install new parts on your cooling system, check the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to know how much oil to include. It's important to replace the O-ring seals on the refrigerant line whenever you have to separate it. The next step is to pull out any tape or plugs at the end of the discharge line fittings, as well as those on the compressor and condenser. Oil the new rubber O-ring seals with refrigerant oil and install them onto the discharge line fittings, always choosing those specified for R-134a systems and using the recommended oil for the A/C compressor. Guide the A/C discharge line into the engine compartment and join it to the A/C compressor, using a bolt that is tightened applying 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.) of force. After that, attach the discharge line of the air conditioning system to the condenser and tighten the nut to 6 Nm (53 in. lbs.). Then, place the negative battery cable into its socket, get rid of any refrigerant, restore the correct level of refrigerant oil, charge the refrigerant and finally install the air cleaner housing.
