2008 Dodge Viper HVAC Pressure Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Install an HVAC Pressure Switch to Prevent Refrigerant Leaks on 2008 Dodge Viper?
A: During service and repair of the Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch, first change the O-ring seal whenever the HVAC pressure switch is taken off as this helps stop refrigerant system leaks. Add some clean R-134a refrigerant oil to an O-ring seal and fit the O-ring which is intended for R-134a, to the discharge line opening, ensuring you use only the specified oil for the A/C compressor. After that, fit the HVAC pressure switch (2) onto the end of the A/C discharge line (1) and ensure it is tight. Next, attach (3) the wire harness connector to the HVAC pressure switch and after that, secure the negative battery cable.
