2008 Dodge Viper A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How Can Proper Maintenance of the A/C Hose Prevent System Malfunction and Compressor Damage on 2008 Dodge Viper?
A: When you service the A/C refrigerant system, check and adjust the oil level to avoid any A/C system problems and possible compressor harm. Should several A/C components be replaced at once, use the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to see how much oil must be added. Make sure to change the seals on the refrigerant line if you disconnect it, to avoid any leaks. Before anything else, put the A/C liquid line into the engine and remove all tape and plugs on the fittings and ports on the condenser and evaporator. Seal the rubber O-rings onto the fitting ends of the A/C liquid line, but do so only with R-134a-recommended O-rings and suitable oil. Fasten the A/C liquid line to the evaporator and tighten its securing nut to 13.5 Nm (10 ft. lbs.). After that, connect the A/C liquid line to the condenser and attach the bolt, closing to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.). Install the A/C liquid line bolt into the right inner front fender before you secure the line. Fit the air ducts back to the air cleaner front and link up the negative battery terminal. Remove refrigerant from the system, put in oil as needed and then charge it if necessary.
