2008 Dodge Viper Evaporator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix an Evaporator on 2008 Dodge Viper?
A: Shut down the air bag system on vehicles with air bags by unplugging the negative battery wire, then give the capacitor just under two minutes to discharge. Not locking the car is necessary so no accidental air bag deployment takes place which could be very dangerous. For a new A/C evaporator to be installed, you need to remove the HVAC housing. Start by taking the HVAC housing out of the car and move it to a bench. After that, remove the foam seal; if it looks damaged, it needs to be changed. Pull out the bracket and screw that attach the evaporator tubes to the HVAC housing. Remove the cover of the HVAC housing and safely lift the A/C evaporator from the part under it. Should the insulator need removal, take it off the A/C evaporator. Make sure any insulator that is deformed or broken is changed as well.
