2008 Dodge Viper Power Steering Cooler Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Power Steering Cooler on 2008 Dodge Viper?
A: Disconnect the negative battery cable and cover it to begin the fluid cooler servicing. Remove the fluid from the power steering reservoir and raise the car after you have done so. Put multiple shop cloths behind the portion of the grille below the nuts of the cooler tube to trap any liquid you remove from those pipes. By putting the Remover, Special Tool 8875, through the grille opening, you can hook it around the hose at the cooler, apply pressure, lift it to the tube nut, twist it to take the nut off and pull away the hose. Be sure to plug the open ports of the hose tubes so nothing gets inside. Unscrew the cooler at the back, lift it off the locating pins and slide it out through the grille. Whenever you change a cooler, unthread the tube nuts from the fluid ports as you work.
