2008 Dodge Viper Power Steering Hose Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Power Steering Hose from the Gear to the Cooler on 2008 Dodge Viper?
A: Prior to setting up the hose from the gear to the cooler, put on new O-rings, wash the inside of each piece and the places where they attach and use a lint-free cloth to rub clean fluid inside the O-rings. Connect the hose in your engine compartment in the opposite sequence you removed it. If you find the quick-connect tube nut connected to the end of the hose, insert it into the fluid cooler and tighten it to 15 Nm (130 in. lbs.). If the quick-connect tube nut is already threaded, separate the hose and push the tube's end into it until it locks. Then, fit the front belly pan, lower your car, place the radiator cooling module and tighten the mounting screws to 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.). Put the pre-installed pressure hose from the pump into the port of the gear and then tighten its nut to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Once that's done, fit the air cleaner, link the battery negative cable to the corresponding battery terminal, waste the power steering and check for any leaks.
