2009 Dodge Viper Power Steering Cooler Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Power Steering Cooler on 2009 Dodge Viper?
A: First, disconnect the negative cable from the battery and keep the battery isolated during the servicing work. Take the power steering fluid from the reservoir and raise the car. Cover the area behind the grille opening below the cooler tube nuts with shop cloths so that leaking fluid can be caught when the hose is taken out. Put the Remover, Special Tool 8875A, on the tube, squeeze, push it toward the nut and rotate as you let go to release the tube. Make sure to close the ends of the hose tubes so that debris can't get inside. Carefully remove the screws that keep the cooler in position, lift the cooler off its pins and remove the whole unit through the front grille opening. When you replace the cooler, undo and remove the tube nuts from the fluid ports as you need to.
