How to Safely Remove a Parking Brake Cable on 2008 Jeep Compass?

The parking brake cable can be pulled off by disconnecting the battery, blocking tires, and taking off the center console. Unscrew the adjusting nut, unscrew the cables and open them by removing the rear seat cushion. Fold down the retainer, take out the rear tire and reach out to the parking brake shoes and lastly remove the cable.
