How to Safely Service a Blower Motor Resistor on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?

Check the air from the vent to confirm there wasn't recent use of the blower motor; allow the resistor to cool for at least five minutes before servicing it, as it may become very hot. Take the cable off the negative battery and remove the glove box. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the blower motor resistor which is found behind the HVAC housing, by reaching through the front glove box opening. Last, unscrew the two screws holding the blower motor resistor to the housing and withdraw the resistor from the HVAC unit.
