2008 Jeep Wrangler Heater Core Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Heater Core on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before repairing or servicing the heater core, unplug the battery's negative cable to shut down the air bag system and allow two minutes for the air bag system capacitor to discharge afterward. This is necessary so the air bags don't deploy by accident and cause personal injury or death. Remove the HVAC housing assembly and bring it to a workbench for your convenience. Following this, remove the floor distribution duct from the passenger side part of the air distribution housing. Damaged or bad sealing foam along the flange must be changed immediately. Pull out the foam seal on the front flange, remove the securing screw and take out the flange from the HVAC housing. After that, take out the screw that keeps the bracket retaining the heater core tubes to the passenger side of the air distribution housing and remove the bracket. Pull the heater core gently from the side of the air distribution housing.
