2008 Jeep Wrangler A/C Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Operate the A/C Switch for Optimal Heating Control on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?
A: First, turn off the air bag system by removing and isolating the negative battery cable and then wait two minutes for its capacitor to drain its energy. Disconnect the unhealthy battery cable, then take apart the central bezel from the instrument cluster and remove all the connectors on the wire harnesses and switches. Notice how the control cables are installed before you take them out, so you know where to place them when reattaching them. Undo the retaining clips of the control cables at the back of the A/C-heater control with a small screwdriver. You should also disconnect the holding clips that keep the control cables connected to the mode control gear and the temperature control gear. Unplug all the wire harness connectors from the rear of the A/C-heater control and keep the center bezel on the workbench. After that, loosen the four screws that join the A/C-heater control to your center bezel, then take out the control.
