How to Remove an Ignition Lock Cylinder on 2009 Dodge Dakota?

When you remove the ignition lock cylinder, insert the ignition key into the key cylinder before you start. Remove the negative wire from your battery and then dismount the upper and lower covers from the steering column. Change the shifter so it is in PARK. On the side of the key cylinder assembly is a retaining pin; with the key in RUN, press down on the retaining pin with a suitable tool and gently pull the key cylinder from the ignition switch.
