How to Service an Air Bag Control Module on 2009 Dodge Ram 2500?

Before servicing the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC), disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable, wait for the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) to disconnect and take a two-minute delay to discharge the system capacitor, both for your and the vehicle's safety. You should avoid hitting or dropping the ORC, because it might harm the impact sensor and throw off the calibration; if the ORC is dropped, it must be replaced. Start by taking away the cover from the ORC. After that, pull the release button and lift the lever arm on both ORC connector receptacles at the front of the module to take out the two wire harnesses. After that, remove the three nuts that hold the ORC to the studs on the ORC mounting bracket in the floor panel transmission tunnel and remove the ORC from the panel.
