Before working on the Siacm, you must first disconnect the battery's negative cable, isolate it by placing it back and wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge. Pull the front seat forward far enough to make the B-pillar trim easier to get to. In Standard Cab, get rid of the front outboard
Seat Belt and retractor beside the B-pillar, then take out the four screws joining the Siacm to the B-pillar. Put your finger through the retractor hole to reach the plastic push-in fasteners, disconnect them and pull both the Siacm and the mounting bracket out, freeing the body wire harness connector from the module. To access the Quad Cab's wire harness, first, do what you did for the Single Cab and then lift the Siacm to ease the mounting hook away from the B-pillar. For installing, keep the Siacm and its bracket together, attach the body wire harness back and fasten them into place. Secure the Siacm mounting bracket with four, partly tight screws then, tighten them in the order of upper left, lower right, lower left and upper right to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). Install the front outboard seat belt and its retractor and wait to link the battery's negative cable until the supplemental restraint system verification test is carried out after any service on the vehicle. Should the Siacm fall out during driving, it must be thrown away and replaced by a new unit because the air bag could function improperly.
