2009 Dodge Viper Power Steering Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Power Steering Pump on 2009 Dodge Viper?
A: The first step is to unhook the negative cable from the battery and remove the connection. Eliminate the power steering housing and withdraw the fluid from the reservoir's tank. Following that, remove the accessory drive belt from the belt tensioner and power steering pump drive pulley. Remember that once the pressure hose is unconnected from the power steering pump, the quick-connect must always be changed. After that, remove the whole power steering pressure hose and quick-connect, then the supply hose from the power steering pump. After that, detach the three bolts that hold the pump to the engine and take out the power steering pump. The pulley can be taken out if it's not needed.
